Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
– 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
As you peruse our resources, you may notice something different about our approach to food and physical health. We only promote, encourage and use wellness resources which are traditionally derived from God’s Creation.
No, we will not ask you to purchase Oreo’s for a moon phases activity, or use corn syrup and dye laced marshmallows to make structures with toothpicks. Instead, the recipes and activities we share (if meant to be eaten) will intentionally use whole ingredients and traditional cooking techniques exclusively.
One of the most important things we do, is help parents find resources which enhance the health of our bodies in their natural state (which God created and called good), instead of degrade them. Due to our unique personal experience in this area, we have a very holistic way of looking at the purpose of the human body. So we share natural resources exclusively, because we believe God created all we need for vibrant health.
These resources aren’t an attempt to shame, judge or criticize those doing things differently, they are to give you an alternative to the worldly narrative about what it means to be fully healthy.
This is also not a call to the perfection, pride, or vanity of our culture… quite the opposite. Instead, it is a call for the intentional care and revered sacredness of the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. For tending to the health of our physical bodies, is one path we can use to improve our connection to God.
