**Requirements: To enroll, students must have already completed and excelled in Young Author’s Club (Basic).  Students must also come to the first class with a COMPLETED rough draft of the story they want to work on.**

Young Authors Club (Advanced) is for children 10+.  This club is aimed at young author’s who:

• Want to improve their writing and storytelling abilities
• Want to create a short chapter book and have the rough draft complete
• Took Young Author’s Club (Basic) previously

Students will learn – from a former English major and Language Arts teacher – the art of editing and enhancing their story. Each week they will walk through a different advanced element of storytelling as they take their original basic story, and transform it into a compelling literary piece of art.

Participants will end the club with a completed hard cover book they wrote & illustrated themselves.  To complete books in the time provided, authors may have homework after each meeting (for up to 1 hour a week).

All Young Author’s will have the opportunity to share their original work at a special book reading in June 2026.

Participants must be writing independently.  All materials will be provided.
